Purchase orders and tracking Purchase orders and tracking. If you buy for your clients, raise a purchase order from the items going to one vendor. They’re grouped by vendor; check the ones to order. It becomes a numbered order, with each item as a line, its quantity and cost. Add freight or other charges beside it. Preview and send it. You see the email first, and it carries a link to this one order. Prefer your own email? Copy the message and send it from there; the link works the same. Or download the order as a PDF and send that. A vendor never signs in. They acknowledge the order at that link, with their name and a ship date, and the order says who acknowledged it, and when. Expediting follows every ordered item to the floor. What’s coming up shows in amber; anything late turns red. Dates and tracking holds the expected and actual dates, the carrier and the tracking number. Vendors can fill these in at their link too. When it lands, receiving records what came, in what condition, and where it was put. Anything not in good order opens a claim. That’s ordering and tracking. More videos: portspace.io/videos
